Department of Computer Systems and Networks (K-2)
The Department conducts research in the fields of informatics and teleinformatics, focusing on the following areas:
- design, construction, management, and operation of extensive and local computer networks, data transmission systems and computer systems, including dispersed computer systems,
- modelling, optimisation, and simulation in the design of local and extensive computer networks, data transmission systems, and computer systems,
- optimisation of inter-network connections,
- design and operation of databases, with a focus on the optimisation in the area of database design,
- algorithms supporting the design of computer systems and networks,
- applications of computer systems and networks for supporting decision-making systems,
- methodology of object recognition, with a focus on the issues of complex recognition,
- computer processing of image-based information,
- systems with knowledge representation and experts systems,
- computer simulations, optimisation of experiments, and the design of experiment systems,
- design of field-specific computer systems for supporting decision-making, identification, recognition, and diagnostics,

Department of Telecommunications and Teleinformatics (K-3)
The Department conducts research in the fields of telecommunications and teleinformatics, focusing on the following areas:
- methods of computer modelling in the areas of electromagnetic compatibility of devices and calibration of electromagnetic fields,
- design of advanced antennas, the impact of EMC wave on living organisms,
- developing methods of modelling of electromagnetic waves in various environments,
- networks o sensors for the purposes of monitoring pollution and environmental protection, as well as for military purposes,
- microwave and EPR spectrometry technology.
Department of Field Theory, Electronic Circuits, and Optoelectronics (K-4)
The Department conducts research in the field of electronics, focusing on the following areas:
- lasers and optical fibre amplifiers,
- microlasers,
- short pulse lasers,
- laser stabilisation,
- laser spectroscopy - gas detection,
- laser vibrometry,
- laser micromachining,
- material analysis (LIBS),
- design of advanced digital electronic circuits,
- design of advanced analogue electronic circuits,

Department of Acoustics and Multimedia (K-5)
The Department conducts research in the field of electronics, focusing on the following areas:
- methods of signal processing for the purposes of ultrasonic tomography,
- multimedia technologies,
- application of the methods of speech signal analysis in criminology,
- modern electroacoustic converter designs,
- improving research and design methods of environmental acoustics (acoustic maps, noise limitation projects, interior acoustics, sound augmentation systems, and sonic alarm systems).
Department of Signal Processing Systems (K-6)
The Department conducts the following research:
- signal processing in intelligent passive networks of acoustic, seismic and vision sensors: signal activation circuits, passive detection, location, and monitoring of objects, table processing and merging sensor data,
- signal processing in intelligent drones and drone swarms: drone positioning systems, automated obstacle detection, and anti-collision systems, passive terrain recognition based on SLAM-type algorithms,
- advanced techniques for optimal filtering and adaptive signal processing based on methods, techniques, and algorithms of random signal processing,
- speech signal processing: practical aspects of automatic speech recognition, speaker recognition, emotion recognition, speech synthesis, noise removal, and removal of echo, interferences, and distortion,
- blind separation of seismic signals oriented towards tracking changes.
Department of Cybernetics and Robotics (K-7)
The Department conducts research in innovative areas of robotics, i.e.:
- flexible production systems,
- mobile robots,
- robot kinematics, dynamics, and control,
- modelling and determining the effectiveness of event systems,
- planning tasks and trajectories for tweezers,
