Biographical note:
In 1995 he graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WUST). In October 1997. was employed at the Institute of Electrical Engineering Fundamentals WUST. as an assistant professor In 1999. defended his Ph.D. thesis on aging processes in high-voltage surge arresters. From January 2019 Ph.D. with Habilitation (DSc). Currently, he is titular professor in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. . He is a member of the Council of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering WUST, the Social Council of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering WUST, the Council for the Scientific Discipline of Automation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Space Technologies WUST.
He is an IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Senior Member. He is a member of the Polish Committee for Standardization in the Electrotechnical Materials Committee and in the High Voltage Committee. He is the secretary of the Polish Committee of Electrotechnical Materials (PKME) of the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers (SEP).
Scientific interests mainly concern high voltage technology; liquid insulation; high voltage insulation systems; impedance spectroscopy; modern materials for shielding the electromagnetic field. He is the author of publications in international scientific journals and the editor of scientific books on broadly understood electrotechnical materials.

Scientific activity

My scientific activity is in the broad field of electrical engineering. I also conduct it in international cooperation, including with India (cooperation with Prof. Sabu Thomas, rector of Mahatma Gandhi University in Kerala) and France (cooperation with Prof. Abderrahmane Beroual of Ecole Cetrale de Lyon). My research work is mainly in the field of high-voltage surge arresters and ZnO varistors (I have developed diagnostic methods for high-voltage surge protection devices for critical infrastructure of the electric power transmission system and analyzed aging processes in these devices), high-voltage overhead insulation (I worked on modern diagnostics of overhead insulation in service and on the selection of overhead insulation for fouling conditions), ferrite materials (I showed that electrical conductivity in M-type ferrites is primarily due to electron hopping between Fe3+ and Fe2+ ions. The subsidization of the material with ions of other elements causes changes in the concentration of Fe3+ ions, which affects the hopping between Fe3+ and Fe2+ ions), high-voltage liquid insulation (my work is concerned with flow electrification and electrohydrodynamic movement of liquids, which phenomena can lead to a local increase in electric field strength and, consequently, to catastrophic failure of power transformers), electromagnetic shielding (research undertaken by me has made it possible to obtain new materials for shielding against electromagnetic radiation in the form of plasma-coated textile products). I carried out research work within the framework of research projects funded by both national (KBN) and European (POIG) and non-European (India) sources.

Some of my research results have been published in leading journals in the industry, such as Journal of American Ceramic Society, European Physical Journal B, , IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, Composite Interfaces, Journal of Applied Polymer Science.
